Oven Dried Strawberries
July has been a little crazy over here but I’m back in action after a little break to move to a new apartment and visit family. I’ve been excited to share this flavor packed snack - it’s perfect for adding to trail mixes, salads and baked goods. Plus all you need is an oven to get the job done in two simple steps.
I’m all about low waste in the kitchen. I love finding ways to use up leftover fresh ingredients or preserve them before they go bad. Anyone with me? I like to dry any fresh strawberries and other fruit that I won’t have time to eat before they go bad so that I can store them for a longer period of time. If the strawberries are dried with no moisture left in them, you can store them for up to six months. However, if they still retain some moisture, I’d recommend only storing them for up to five days in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
Fresh Strawberries - That’s literally all you need! You don’t need to add anything to them, they are flavorful enough on their own, and drying them out will make their flavor even more intense.
