Gimlet

I love a gimlet in all seasons. Lately as I’ve been mixing up summer cocktails, I realized that most of my favorite cocktails contain lime and some form of alcohol. Lime is just so zesty and refreshing! And this gimlet is no exception.

(Dayton, if you’re reading, this one is for you!)

What is a Gimlet?

A Gimlet is a gin cocktail that consists of gin, lime, and sugar. Traditionally, Rose’s Lime Cordial is all you’d need to add to make a glass of gin into a gimlet, however I prefer the fresher taste of lime juice paired with simple syrup. If you like you can add a little lime zest into your simple syrup to make it extra zesty, just make sure you strain it out before adding it to the mix.

What kind of Glass can I serve a Gimlet in?

Traditionally a Gimlet is served in a coupe glass which has a medium stem and a wide rim, though any cocktail glass will do just fine. I love these textured coupe glasses, they make any cocktail sparkle like champagne!

Can I make a Gimlet without any Alcohol?

Absolutely! To make this drink into a mocktail, simply replace the gin with Juniper Water or a non-alcoholic gin.
