Mint Mojito
It’s Friday and you know what that means - time for a cocktail recipe! Today I want to share a summer favorite: the mint mojito.
What is a Mojito?
Originally from Cuba, a mojito consists of white rum, soda water, lime juice, sugar, and mint. They are bubbly and refreshing which makes it a perfect summer cocktail.
What Kind of Glass Can I Serve a Mojito In?
The classic way to serve a mojito is in a collins glass or a pint because they allow for more soda water. I’m not a purist and like mine a little bit less watered down so I serve mine in a tumbler. I promise, it is still refreshing!
Can I make a Mojito without any Alcohol?
Yes! You can replace the rum with a non-alcoholic option like Sans Bar Summer Carnivàle, or just add more soda water!
How to make a Mint Mojito
Ingredients
2 sprigs Fresh Mint Leaves, rinsed
2 ounces White Rum
1 ounce Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1 ounce Simple Syrup
Ice
1 cup Club Soda
Mint Leaves and Lime for Garnish
Directions
Step One - Tear up some mint leaves and add them to a tumbler. Add white rum, fresh squeezed lime juice, simple syrup, and ice to the tumbler. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.
Step Two - Fill a glass with crushed or cubed ice. Pour the tumbler contents over the ice (using the strainer lid built into the tumbler). Fill the remainder of the glass with club soda and garnish with a mint sprig and a slice of lime.
These are SO refreshing on a hot day! Cheers!
