Homemade Grenadine

Homemade Grenadine

Level up your cocktails, mocktails, and more with this homemade grenadine recipe! Before I created this recipe, I didn’t realize how easy it is to make! It only takes about five minutes and is so worth the effort!

What is grenadine?

Grenadine is a simple syrup that has been around since the 1800s. It is made by blending the juice from pomegranates and sugar together over heat until the sugar dissolves, creating a syrup that can be stored and used in cocktails and many other ways.

Ingredients

Pomegranate Juice - You can buy pomegranate juice at most grocery stores - the brand Pom is widely available. You may also make your own pomegranate juice by extracting pomegranate seeds from the fruit and juicing them, which can take some time but can be worth it!

Sugar - Regular white sugar will do just fine! I’m not ashamed to say that I always buy the generic brand. Is there actually a fancy sugar? Let me know in the comments below!

How do I store homemade grenadine?

It is best to store homemade grenadine in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days. You can also freeze it in an ice cube tray in the freezer for up to three months.
