Gin Fizz

I’m back at it this weekend with a super fun cocktail recipe to share with you! I have never made a gin fizz at home before and this was really fun to try. I felt like I was ten years old again, creating a volcano for a fourth grade science experiment. As for flavor, this cocktail is the closest you will get to drinking lemon meringue pie!

If your foam expands and multiplies then you are doing it right, just make sure you keep enough room in the glass to accommodate the fizzy volcano!

How to Make a Gin Fizz

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Gin

  • 1 ounce Lemon

  • 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup

  • 1 Egg White

  • Seltzer Water

  • Ice

Directions

Step One - Chill a glass in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Step Two - Add gin, lemon, simple syrup, and egg white to a tumbler. Pop the lid on tight and shake vigorously for 15 seconds (the goal here is to froth up the egg, similar to making meringue). Add a few cubes of ice and shake vigorously again for 10 seconds.

Step Three - Pour the tumbler contents into the chilled glass. Top the glass off with seltzer water and serve!

Tip: Pour the seltzer in slowly - it is easy to overfill because the fizz will expand and then you will really have a volcano on your hands!

Happy Weekend!

Cheers!
