Jeepers Creepers Punch

Halloween is just around the corner, so here’s a spooky punch recipe for ya! This punch is easy to make and great for a halloween themed party!

Ingredients

Pineapple Sherbet is the key ingredient in this punch that adds a creamy texture and tangy pineapple flavor.

Gold Rum by your favorite brand! Avoid rums labeled “spiced.” A smooth un-spiced gold rum will allow the rum to complement the other flavors without taking center stage.

Ginger Beer adds a little spice and a lot of bubble that creates a frothy top layer.

What is Sherbet?

Sherbet is fruit forward and mixed with milk or cream to give it an ice cream-like texture, whereas ice cream is milk or cream forward and any added flavor is a secondary component.

Thus, using sherbet in a punch means that the cream flavor won’t overpower the flavor of the fruit or any other flavors you add to your punch.

Can I substitute Sorbet for Sherbet?

If you are dairy free or vegan, you can substitute sorbet for sherbet. However, sorbet doesn’t contain milk or cream so your punch will turn out more like a slushy consistency rather than the frothy consistency that sherbet creates.

How do I serve Jeepers Creepers punch?

You can make a large batch and serve it up in a punch bowl, or make enough for two and serve it in your glass of choice. This drink is versatile and works well for party situations or a little after dinner desert! And because it isn’t a classic cocktail, you can choose your own adventure as far as what type of glass to use. I chose a goblet similar to this one.

How to make Jeepers Creepers Punch

Ingredients

*Makes two servings

Garnish

  • 4 Seedless Green Grapes

  • 4 Dried Cranberries

Punch

  • 3 large scoops Pineapple Sherbet

  • 2 ounces Gold Rum

  • 1 can Ginger Beer

Directions

Step One - Set two glasses to chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.

Step Two - Prepare the Eyeballs for garnish by slicing the grapes lenthwise (not in half, just a slit) and removing some of the pulp from inside. Stick a dried cranberry inside. Voila!

Step Three - Mix Pinneapple Sherbet with Gold Rum until smooth. Divide into the two chilled glasses.

Step Four - Top off each glass with Ginger Beer and give it a stir. Add the eyeball grapes on top and serve immediately (the grapes will slowly sink and will appear again when the glass is empty).

Happy spooky season!
